Exactly one month ago, April 14th, a dark cloud was cast over Nigeria as the dreaded Boko Haram sect carried out the horrific Nyanya bombings that left many dead. Same day, they reportedly abducted over 250 girls in G. G. S. S Chibok, Borno State.
Few days after the news of the abduction broke out, the Nigerian Army released a statement claiming to have rescued over 100 of the girls. The statement was later retracted after the Borno State government, the school principal and parents of the missing girls denied any rescue. Over 50 of the abducted girls escaped from the Boko Haram captivity and were reunited with their families.
Now, Boko Haram has released a video parading girls believed to be victims of the Chibok abduction. The terror group leader, Abubakar Shekau has vowed to continue holding the girls captive except the Nigerian government frees all imprisoned Boko Haram members!
The Borno State governor has revealed that 55 of the girls in the latest Boko Haram video have been positively identified by name as victims of the Chibok school abduction....The identification exercise is still ongoing.
ONE Month after and no major headway has been made in the mission to rescue these girls!!! Sadly, some Nigerians are even doubting the authenticity of the abduction.
Playing politics with human lives is preposterous!!!
