Over 200 people killed by Fulani herdsmen in Zamfara.

Fulani herdsmen killed over 200 people who were attending a security meeting in Yargaladinma area of Dansadau community in Maru LGA of Zamfara state this past weekend. The attackers were said to have come in over a hundred motorbikes carrying guns and machetes, and surrounded the building where the security meeting was holding and opening fire on everyone in sight and killing over 100 on the spot. Some escaped, some died the next day while others were gravely injured.
The Emir of the Dansadau, Alhaji Husaini Adamu, while expressing his sadness over the attack said "This is not the first time the people of the area would be facing such problem but this attack was the worst of its kind in the history of killings in this area."
    
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Abubakar Mohammed, has ordered the immediate deployment of Special Forces to checkmate the recurring attacks on Zamfara communities by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, said in a statement on Monday that the police authorities had directed the Air Wing of the Nigerian Police to commence area surveillance of the state to ensure effective monitoring of the security situation.
