Photos from a Federal Hospital in Nigeria! Nurse fixing IV drip with torchlight.

This is the despairing scenarios patients are faced with everyday in most Nigerian government funded hospitals. Often times electricity, especially at night, is nearly non-existent and generators are usually under fuelled.

I know of an old classmate who gave birth in a Niger State owned hospital and was sent packing from the hospital immediately after she was cleaned up in the labour room. They didn't bother to monitor her for a few hours as required.

I am beginning to give up on this country, really!
