Finally! ASUU strike is officially over.

The 5 months old ASUU strike is finally over. This is after the federal government threw in the towel and decided to meet ASUU's demand. The sum of N200billion was paid into the union's account yesterday, 10th December.

An agreement have also been signed by the union and Federal government this evening, signalling an end to the strike.

Representing the union at the meeting preceding the agreement was its chairman, Dr. Nasir Fagge.

Nyesom Wike, the minister of education, represented the government.

The union told Channels that it plans on returning to work next week.

The strike began in July after the union said the government wasn't abiding by conditions reached in a 2009 agreement between the parties.
