Dennis Okike emerges winner of the 10th edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search!

The most anticipated answer to who will be the ultimate Champion  has been provided for fans of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS)  reality TV show  as Dennis Okike emerged the winner of GUS season 10.

He outwitted Dr. Edmund Umeabuani and Ifunanya Onike in the waters of Usaka River, Akwa-Ibom State where the final battle among the warriors fervently seeking for the 10th symbol took place.  On the final day of the search, the warriors got a message from the Council of Elders ordering them to pack their bags and make their ways to where they draw water. Chidi Mokeme awaited them and gave them the next set of instructions.

The final task was to search for the 10th Symbol. To do that, each of them would make use of a clue which would take them to two different locations to retrieve two pieces of the map that would lead to where the 10th Symbol was buried. Another clue at their first locations would direct them to the next location.
It was a race against time and the last man to the next location was evicted. Edmund and Ifunanya's first clue led them to the Place of the Talking Drum to retrieve the first map piece; while Bobby and Dennis went to the Mud Field. Subsequently, Bobby and Dennis headed to the Place of the Talking Drum for their second piece while Edmund and Ifunanya raced to the Mud
Field. Edmund returned first, followed by Ifunanya. Dennis edged Bobby out of the quest when he beat him to the finish line. Bobby was instantly evicted.

With their maps pieced together, the remaining warriors had all they needed to proceed to find the Sceptre. On their maps three spots were marked 'X' as possible places the 10th Symbol was buried. Ifunanya was in the lead, having figured out the direction first. However her first attempt at crossing the river with the aid of a rope saw her falling into the water while Edmund and Dennis moved on.

Edmund arrived first and headed straight to one of the spots marked on the map and began his search. Dennis joined shortly. Ifunanya had barely stepped in the river when Dennis raised what turned out to be a false alarm. All he had was a piece of debris laying under the river. The protracted search had the warriors glancing at their maps intermittently as Dennis kept digging up dirt after dirt from the river.

After many futile efforts Dennis eventually dug up the Sceptre from under a slant palm tree in the river and thereby ended the long search for the 10th  symbol. He was instantly inducted into the order of Heroes as the 10th  Ultimate Man by Chidi Mokeme, the Anchor-man.

For his feat, Dennis will win N10 million and a brand new Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0L GLS AT(full Option) courtesy of CFAO Motors Nigeria, the official automotive partners of Gulder Ultimate Search 10. For emerging the last female contestant standing, Ifunanya is already guaranteed N1 million in addition to her prize money.

In the same vein, Kalu Kalu, a final year student of Industrial Mathematics in the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, has emerged as the first winner of the first ever fans edition of Gulder Ultimate Search. The fans edition of Gulder Ultimate Search was hosted by Bob Manuel Udokwu. Gulder gave fans and viewers of the show a chance to compete in Nigeria's first 100 per cent local content reality TV show from the comfort of their homes.

N255m BMW bullet proof cars were not bought for me- Stella Oduah

Very interesting details on how it went down between Stella Oduah and House of rep members.....culled from Vanguard:

MINISTER of Aviation,Princess Stella Oduah Thursday told members of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation that the alleged purchase of N255million BMW armoured cars were not bought for her personal use.
Oduah who astonished stakeholders with this disclosure at the investigative hearing on the issue in her 12 page presentation said:
"As you all are aware, what necessitated this public hearing were the events that followed a false and malicious online publication that I had compelled the NCAA to purchase for me 2 nos BMW bullet proof cars at the cost of $1.6million. "
"Let me state emphatically that from the onset that the allegation concerning the purchase of the 2 nos bullet proof cars for me by the NCAA is false in its entirety. "
After reading her presentation, Rep Zakari Lafia Mohammed asked her whether it is a loan or lease that her agency obtained from FBN, she said it is the same. She said the money NCAA would pay would still be below the N240million at the end of the year.
On whether she acted within the ambit of the law in giving approval beyond N100 million , she said she approved the money and asked the NCAA to do the needfull.
What is the needfull?
The Committee and the minister disagreed on what do the needfull meant.
She had claimed that in her approval she said kindly do the needfull.
Rep Mohammed took on her that saying the needfull means a go ahead to implement.
Responding, Oduah said"no you are wrong on that the needfull does not mean full approval. "
The NCAA DG Folu Akinkuotu was asked whether he did the needfull, he said he was not In-charge at NCAA when the order was given for the purchase.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry, George Ossi was tackled for misleading the minister by not appropriately advising her.
The committee said the permanent secretary ought to have asked the NCAA to do the right thing.

The PS claimed that due diligence ought to have been done by the agency before applying for the approval. He claimed that he was not available at the time everything happened .

The DG said he would have followed the procurement Act if he were the one the directive was given to do the needfull.
He said the acting DG Joyce Daniel Nkemakolam ought to explain why he did not do that Nkemakolam said we interpreted the directive to mean to go through it in line with the procurement Act. He said they did the due diligence but they had a mindset that they were within the budget limit.
But he was asked why he didn't do due diligence to ensure that it was in tandem with the procurement law, he said he thought since the agency had got the approval of the National Assembly there was no need for such diligence. He was asked why he initiated a memo to approve 54 vehicles when what the National assembly approved was 25 vehicles.

He was reminded that what was approved was N240million and not N643million.
NCAA was asked whether the board sought approval of the president to approve the car loan. Nkemakolam said he was working on the mindset that they were still within the approved limit.

He said that what NCAA discussed with First bank was a lease. He was asked the date the board of NCAA approved the loan facility.
The DG was asked how many trainings did he organise for NCAA staff , he said he relied on experts.
He said that his mindset has always being that they did not exceed the amount approved.

He was asked whether the NCAA board approved the money.
He said the NCAA has interim board. He said that he was working on account that it was a lease not loan.

The drama continued with Rep Manwe asking the former DG of NCAA to disclose who uses the controversial bullet proof cars since the Minister bluntly confessed that they were not bought for her use.
"Who is using the vehicles now since the Minister said they were not purchased for her?" he asked.

To the DG, that was one question that got him jolted. Minutes passed before he could provide an answer. And when he finally found his voice, he said "Anybody can use the vehicles when they are in the pool. They are operational vehicles."
But the Lawmaker wouldn't give up. He continued with a rider to the question.
"Do you mean that a messenger or cleaner in the agency can use the cars?" He asked.
At this juncture, the hearing room became deadened in silence with the DG losing his voice for the second time.
And when again, he found it, he answered this way: "those categories of vehicles are for VIPs which include the Minister, including you, the Honorable."
Just then a blast of laughter erupted in the hall which to some extent provided some comic relief to everyone in the hall.
But Rep Manwe wouldn't stop. He asked again, "can we have the log book of the movement of the car?

With a subdued babbling voice which came in separate minutes, the DG answered " I am not a transport officer. I don't know whether they are still keeping those log books."
When it now became obvious that the DG was exhaustive of all the answers he had, the Lawmakers mandated the agency to bring the man who received the vehicles at the point of delivery by Coscharis Motors.
With that, the hearing came to a close.
In her closing remark, the chairperson, Onyejeocha assured Nigerians that justice would be done to the report of the hearing.
"Fact speak for itself. We have tried to listen to people: Coscharis, the Minister, NCAA, First Bank , BPP and Customs, and we have their submissions with us. We will consider what we have whether it is in line with the extant laws and financial regulations.
We assure everyone and all Nigerian that we will do justice to this hearing," Onyejeocha said.

Speaking with some Journalists shortly after the hearing, the Minister, Oduah expressed gratitude to the National Assembly for giving her an opportunity to present her own side of the story.

Rihanna covers up her hand with yet another hideous tattoo!

The thing about tattoos is that you can't just decide to wash them off when you get over them ( you will get over them for sure!). Yet people walk into tattoo parlours everyday to turn their skin into a canvass for artwork? I can't figure!

Few weeks back, Rihanna made headlines for getting a very painful Maori tattoo on her hand. A maori tattoo is usually carried out with a chisel and mallet. Now she is already over that very ugly tattoo and has added more on top of it to cover it up!

Could it be that Rihanna is battling some form of depression? This tattoo might be a way of letting out some steam!

Governor Adams Oshiomole narrowly escapes being lynched at a stakeholders meeting in Benin!

The Presidential Advisory Committee on National dialogue with stakeholders held a meeting in Benin yesterday that ended in chaos. Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State made a remark that angered some participants and it took the timely intervention of the Governor's security team to save the Governor. He was whisked away as soon as things got heated up. Read the press release by Edo State on the matter below.

EDO STATE GOV'T ISSUED A PRESS STATEMENT EXPLAINING WHAT HAPPENED

Thugs believed to have been hired by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday disrupted the proceedings of the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue/Conference in Benin City today when they stopped Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and others from making contributions to the ongoing talks.

A member of the Presidential Advisory Committee, Col Tony Nyiam (rtd) was the arrowhead of the disruption as he shouted down the Governor while making his contribution.
The thugs believed to have been imported from neighbouring states heckled the Governor as soon as they realized that his contributions would be different from the perceived opinion.
The Governor who took the stage to make his contribution shortly after the Isoko Ethnic group had made their contribution said he objected to spending huge public funds on a wasteful venture saying, during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo, money was spent on similar conference and at the end, nothing came out of that conference.

"I will be surprised if anything changes. Sincerely, I have no business to deceive or mislead anyone. I believe that the outcome of this conference will not be different from that of other conferences we have had in the past."
But as soon as Governor Oshiomhole made this statement, committee member, Col Nyiam jumped on his feet and would perhaps have lunged at the Governor were he close to him. He was restrained by other members who were taken aback by his action.
Even while the Governor was still making his contribution, Nyiam started screaming at the top of his voice for the Governor to shut up and sit down. He was then joined in by the PDP thugs who disrupted the whole proceedings and many scampered for safety as a result of the unruliness of the committee member and thugs.
The Governor who insisted on concluding his remarks however yielded the floor when the thugs were getting violent.
However, the Governor had, at a courtesy visit to him in his office by members of the Committee led by Senator Femi Okurounmu, said he had no faith in the whole process.

Oshiomhole said "all I owe Nigeria now is to speak my mind. It could be error of my head but certainly not of my heart. As much as I wish you well, I just want to say that I have no faith in this process and I do not think it was necessary at all".

The Governor said "I am unable to find any basis to give me some illusion that this exercise will not be different from the others. And I honestly think that in terms of the private sector, when a country keeps debating how we can live together that cannot be one of the basis on which the outside community will invest in Nigeria. They may well wait until we know how we want to live in Nigeria".
He lamented that fifty-three years after independence, Nigerians still prefer to look at themselves from their ethnic origin rather than being Nigerians, saying, "for me, I am just a Nigerian".
"I do not think that more than hundred years when we have set aside billions of naira to celebrate centenary celebrating the fact of our amalgamation of the North and Southern Nigeria, and we have lived together as one country for over a hundred years, and we have gone through independence, we have been free for fifty three years and we are coming back to ask the question, how could we be there.
"I think Nigeria needs to address very serious issues. When I see eminent Nigerians discussing this issue, I am sure they know that Nigeria's problem is not this politics of sharing which the national dialogue is all about, who is getting what, who has this natural endowment, who should do this or not do this. For me this is the act of perfecting poverty.
"The real challenge is getting Nigeria back to production. The real challenge is creating industrial base and this cannot be resolved through conferences. We have moved from parliamentary system in our own wisdom to the presidential system. We have test-run it and it was aborted by the military and it has re-incarnated in the present form" he said.
"Nigeria does need a serious reflection about how to return to those core values that made Nigeria work before. Those healthy competition between the governments, visit the whole question of attitude and unless that changes, I do not see how any dialogue can work", he said.
The Governor noted "I was discussing with somebody last week and he noted that this is the eleventh conference and I ask what ten conferences could not do, how would the eleventh one do it? Why do we think we can continue doing the same thing the same old way and think that this time the outcome would be different?.
The Governor said nobody convenes a meeting without stating an agenda and asking others to draw up an agenda for that meeting adding "from conception we know we want to talk but we do not know what we want to talk about."

Earlier the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue/Conference, Senator Femi Okurounmu said they were in Benin as part of their to the six geo political zones to get their input as regards the content of the agenda, the duration, choice of delegation and legal framework.

Chris Brown released from jail after his charges were reduced from Felony to Misdemeanor!

Chris Brown got lucky again and is out of jail after being there since Sunday for punching a man.
Chris, 24, and his bodyguard punched a man in the face in front of a washington hotel on Sunday. He was arrested and charged with Felony assault and faced up to 4 years in prison. He appeared in court on Monday and was lucky to have his charges reduced from Felony assault to a Misdemeanor.

Part of the conditions for his release is that he must stay not less than 100 yards away from the victim at all times. The victim ended up with a fractured nose after his altercation with Chris Brown.

The bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor. According to reports, the fight started when the man and his friend photo-bombed Chris, who was posing for a picture with two girls. Other sources close to Chris insist the fight wasn't over a photo, they say the alleged victim tried to force his way onto Chris' tour bus, and Chris was merely trying to stop a trespass. Brown has been in custody since the incident.

According to Chris' statement, he claims he was on his tour bus when the victim tried getting on and his bodyguard "handled it". The victim claims he was trying to get a pic with Chris and he refused allegedly said, "I ain't down wit that gay s**t". The victim told cops he responded by saying, "Why you hoing?"  Chris then said, "I feel like boxing."  The victim says Chris then threw the punch and the victim says he then squared off with Chris and then the bodyguard also hit the victim in the face.  According to the victim, after the bodyguard punched him, Chris got BEHIND the bodyguard and screamed, "Yeah, walk away".

Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime's wife cries for help, claims she has been under house arrest for years.

This is difficult to make sense of! I don't understand this story at all, but we all know Sahara Reporters always manages to squeeze out weird but true stories. Read the story below as reported by Sahara Reporters with an open mind:
Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her.
In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.
Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.
"My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my Mum and my siblings bad," she wrote.
The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed "all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations."
The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu state (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.
Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding.  However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.
"He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave he instructs them to lock me in.  I have told him through Sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed
his securities to lock me inside the house."
Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.
Of the situation in Government House, she said, "He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my elf, my Mum and few of my siblings," she said in the letter.  He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from."
She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.
"Police and SS men have been instructed by Br Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises," she said, begging, "Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me."

ONCE AGAIN: Pls be respectful. I dont know why Nigerians cannot take instructions well. This is the leading cause of many ppl's failures. DO NOT address me as Mummy. Stop getting used to those terms. Begin addressing ppl with their title and named. Mummy is RESERVED for my children. Aunty is reserved for my nephews and nieces. They don't appreciate when ppl address me that. Update on the boy who committed Suicide in Area 2 Garki, Abuja.

After my post on the alleged suicide of a boy between 7-10 years of age in Area 2, Garki on Friday (Read here), it took me the whole weekend to gather up enough psychological strength to visit the place for more details.

So, today, armed with a notebook and pen, I walked into the scene of the incident, No.6 Bendel Street, Bonny close Area 2, Section 1 Garki. I felt awkward and unsure of what to expect. Luckily, I met a young man who was kind enough to talk to me. Below are the little details I was able to gather from him:

-The boy's name was Daniel (he couldn't give me the surname).

-He was 9 years old and until his tragic demise was a Primary 5 pupil of Command Primary School Garki, Abuja.

- He was found dead with both feet on the floor and his neck tied with a belt to a burglary proof, suggesting that the suicide might have been staged.

The young man I spoke to also revealed that the boy's corpse looked like he was strangled. I couldn't get what tribe or State the boy was from.

My Conclusion:

I believe if both feet were on the floor, as I was told, this might be a homicide not a suicide.

I pray the Nigerian Police would get to the root of this matter. May the soul of Daniel rest in Peace.

Khloe Kardashian vents on twitter in defence of her 2 younger sisters!

The Kardashian clan has been in the news for many wrong reasons and few right reasons lately.

Yesterday, Khloe posted a photo of herself with younger sisters, Kendal and Kylie at Kanye West's Yeezus concert in Las Vegas and the American media claimed the photo was taken from a night club. Kendal and Kylie Jenner are 17 and 16 years respectively, which makes it illegal for them to go to adult Night clubs.

A very upset Khloe, took to twitter to tear down all those who are propagating untrue stories about the famous Kardashian family.

Sorry Khloe....this is what happens when you live your life in front of the Cameras. Armour up! See her tweets below.

See the photo that led to all the controversies below:

Chris Brown Arrested for beating up a man in Washington D.C.

I guess Chris Brown didn't make a mistake when he beat up ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, because he has hardly stayed out of trouble since then. He is currently in police custody for beating up a man according to TMZ.......

Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning for FELONY assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel ... TMZ has learned.Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Brown got into an argument with a man outside the W Hotel on  K Street and allegedly punched him once IN THE FACE.   We're told the man Chris struck never threw a punch.   Sources say Chris and the alleged victim did NOT know each other. The incident  occurred at about 4:30 AM.Chris was with his bodyguard, and we're told he was also arrested. Our law enforcement sources say Brown did not appear to be under the influence of anything at the time of the incident.  Brown is currently in custody.  As for the other person, we're told he's being evaluated at a D.C. hospital.  Sources say he's claiming injury.Brown is still on probation in the Rihanna beating case and this could be grounds for violating his probation -- which means he could be sentenced to prison for nearly 4 years ... worst case scenario for him. Before the incident, Chris had been hosting a party (pic below) at the nearby Park and 14th nightclub.
