A record 1,300 medals are being manufactured for the Olympics and Paralympics. The medals depict the sun's rays reflecting through a prism of snowy mountains and sandy beaches.
The medals are 10 millimetres thick and 100 millimetres in diameter. The Olympic gold medals weigh 460 grams. A total of 3 kilograms of gold was used to make the medals, which are gold-plated.
I want some of those golds for myself.
These two look so yummy together. I think the best revenge Rihanna can give to Chris Brown for returning to his ex-girlfriend Karrauche is to date Ronaldo....hehe!
Chris Brown will just die of jealousy! After all they are both Chris.
Rihanna, please think about my suggestion! RiRo.....yummy combination!

Globacom's Marketing Coordinator, Mr. Niyi Olukoya, said with the Glo Zero Facebook, subscribers on the network would be empowered to network and socialise on Facebook without paying for data subscription.

"We wish to state openly that we believe that there is no place for violence in the name of religion or politics. We believe all right-thinking members of society share this view wherever they were born and whatever their religion and political beliefs.
"We wholeheartedly condemn all those who engage in acts of terror and fully reject any suggestion by them that religion or politics can justify this kind of violence.
"We unreservedly put out faith in the rule of law and with others fully expect that all the perpetrators will be brought to justice under the law of the land.
"And we pray for Lee Rigby's soul to rest in peace, for the Lord to comfort his parents and loved ones and provide all of us affected the strength and fortitude to cope with this tragedy.
"In all the circumstances and in respect to ongoing police investigations, this is the only statement we wish to give. We ask that we are not contacted for further comments."
Commercial bus drivers and operators of mini-vans in Abuja popularly known as 'Araba' have staged a peaceful protest over the ban of all unlicensed commercial transport operators within the nation's capital.
The aggrieved drivers matched to the National Assembly demanding that Federal lawmakers stop the implementation of the proposed transport policy by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The Secretary-General of the association of owners and drivers of mini-bus town service in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Charles Ikwuagbu described the policy as lawless, capable of rendering 62, 000 drivers, bus conductors and residents of the city jobless.
The Chairman of the Senate committee on the FCT, Smart Adeyemi however pacified the protesters, promising to hold talks with the minister of the FCT on the matter to prevent an impending transportation crisis in the nation's capital.
Besides, the relatives of the deceased persons who went to court to demand higher compensation, 95 others had received the initial payment of $30,000 as at May 25.
The aircraft, which flew from Abuja crashed in the Iju/Ishaga area of Lagos, on June 3 and since then the relatives of the victims are yet to receive full compensation from the airline.
However, Spokesman of Dana Air, Tony Usidamen, said the insurers of Dana Air had made unprecedented progress in payment of compensation.
"As of Friday, May 24, 2013, 95 of the 125 families who completed claim forms had received interim compensation of $30,000 following legal verification of documentation and next-of-kin status while 11 have received full compensation of $100,000; about 21 more, whose grants of probate have just come through, will receive full payment shortly upon execution of release. Delay in completion of the payment process is due to incomplete documentation, multiple claim cases, challenge in securing grant of probate/letter of guardianship (in the case of minors) and legal suits (62 persons have legal representation overseas). Our insurers are, however, sparing no efforts in processing all claims in accordance with the applicable law," Usidamen said.
He said progress was also being made in compensation of ground victims and negotiations were on going with affected residents to settle all genuine claims within the shortest possible time.
Also, Usidamen said after satisfactorily completing a process of recertification by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), a new Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was issued to the airline on December 5, 2012 and scheduled operations commenced on January 4, 2013.
"At present, Dana Air operates 12 flights daily on the Lagos-Abuja-Lagos route, four on the Lagos-Port Harcourt-Lagos route and two on the Abuja-Port Harcourt-Abuja route. Plans are underway to re-launch operations to more Nigerian cities shortly. In line with its expansion plan, the airline is set to boost its current fleet of Boeing MD83 aircraft with the acquisition of Boeing 737s by the third quarter of 2013."
In memory of the dead, Dana Air had lined up events for the remembrance of the deceased, so on Friday, May 31, there would be special Jumat Service at the Lagos Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja by 1p.m. and on Sunday, June 2, Special Memorial Mass at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ikeja by 11a.m.
On June 3, the airline said it would hold a memorial procession to take-off from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos at 8 a.m. and terminate at the NCAA Headquarters 9 a.m.
Since the accident a year ago, many relatives and direct victims of the crash have been agitating for the full compensation of those that died in the crash and complained about the slow pace of the compensation process, but Usidamen said eight families did not submit any claim at all in respect of their family members and others, who have not been paid would receive their payment after clearance by the aircraft's insurers.

Amanda Bynes went on a vicious, unexplainable Twitter tirade against Rihanna on Sunday.
"Chris Brown beat you because you're not pretty enough," she tweeted. "No one wants to be your lover so you call everyone and their mother."
Rihanna shot back, "Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention?"
Bynes responded again, "unlike your fugly faced self I don't do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met your ugly face in person. U aren't pretty u know know!"
She deleted that tweet soon after too.
While it's unclear why Bynes lashed out against the singer, we can't say we agree with the assessment. Rihanna has been posting tons of Instagram pics-- like this one of her dressed up as Marilyn Monroe-- and we have to say, girl looks FIERCE.
Don't worry Rihanna, tough times don't last but tough people do.

The actress who made her Nollywood debut in 2000 has declared that she can no longer act romantic roles because she is now married and so has to consider her husband's feelings.
The curvy mother of one and star of Silent Tears stated that her career has now taken on a new dimension and consequently, she has to be more discerning in the roles she chooses to act.
"I have to consider my husband before taking any role these days," Dakore said as a bright smile lit her features. "I will not do romantic roles as I used to back in the day. Though, if I saw a role that is good and positive, maybe I could act. I am now a new Dakore and not the old Dakore people used to know because I am coming into a new era in my career. I am now a mother and a wife. I just have to be more discerning about the movies that I embark upon."
Seriously how mean can people be? Since when did being plus size become a capital offence?? Loool!
I love her replies to the haters! You go girl.....but burn some of those calories sha!

The oil painting features a bare-chested Jolie after her elective double mastectomy surgery -- an experience she described in a candid op-ed for The New York Times titled "My Medical Choice" earlier this month. The 37-year-old elected to undergo the surgery after learning she carried the breast cancer gene. The surgery lowered her risk of getting breast cancer from 87 percent to under 5 percent.
For Andersson, Jolie's plight hit home.
"My mother had aggressive breast cancer when I was 15, the thought of her having to have a mastectomy really scared me and she was fortunate enough to have surgery without the mastectomy," Andersson told U.K. art enterprise Art Below, which has worked with the artist on past paintings.
"The recent news about Angelina stirred an anxiety within me leading me to paint this portrait. There is an underlying awkwardness in her demeanor in juxtaposition to the natural beauty of her face."
Proceeds from the sale of the topless portrait of Jolie will go to Falling Whistles, a campaign for peace in the Congo, according to Art Below. Jolie, director of "In the Land of Blood and Honey," has dedicated herself to fighting for human rights in the region.
Andersson -- who is the youngest artist to be nominated for the BP Portrait Award and one of the youngest artists to be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery -- has painted famous faces before. His portrait of Amy Winehouse, completed just weeks after her sudden death, became iconic to her legions of fans, The Sun notes. Like the famed Winehouse portrait, Jolie did not sit for Andersson's recent reimagining of the actress.
"Angelina Jolie is the ultimate female icon in this age that we are living in where we worship humans as if they were Gods," Andersson told The Huffington Post through Art Below, which has worked on the debut of the portrait. "I wanted to depict Angelina as a vulnerable human being confronted by the realities that people are faced with no matter what their status."

Accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen hopped on board a special service that took her from the station to the new £212m Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology.
The Queen was in Cambridge to open the new facility – unfortunately she was a bit behind schedule… the bus was 15 minutes late.
Errrm ( clears throat), president Jonathan...when do you plan on taking a ride in the new buses that you provided for the masses recently?
Errrrm skittles and space?? Ok o....you go fear pet names! Loool.
President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed shock at the terrorist attack and killing of a British soldier, Drummer Lee Rigby of the 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in the Woolwich area of London, United Kingdom; and strongly condemns this unfortunate incident.
He conveys his sincere condolences to the British Prime Minister David Cameron and the British people over this senseless and barbaric act, and shares their grief at this moment.\
President Jonathan notes that a terrorist attack anywhere is an attack on the way of life of all free nations and must be collectively condemned by all persons irrespective of race, ethnicity or religion.
It is in this spirit that the Nigerian government is partnering with the British Government, as well as all other stakeholder sovereigns to stand up to and fight terrorism and extremism in whatever guise or pretense it chooses to present itself.
President Jonathan recognizes that each environment presents its own unique challenges and peculiarities and actions taken by affected nations may differ, yet the resolve to confront and defeat this threat should never be in doubt.
President Jonathan says Nigerians are collectively resolute about the need to protect the freedoms that define our existence and inter-relationships at home and overseas. Our recent past tells us that when we pull together, this common enemy and threat will eventually be defeated.

The singer added black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and a black clutch to her look.
Michelle Rodriguez wore the same gown in white-and-black while attending the 'Fast & Furious 6' Seoul premiere in South Korea on Monday.
The actress opted for a simpler approach, adding just a silver cuff to her look, with a beauty regime consisting of barely there makeup and naturally wavy tresses.
Oya over to you, who nailed the look?
Forbes released their annual list Wednesday of the most powerful couples in the world. At the top? Barack and Michelle Obama.
Forbes notes, "With 67 percent of Americans viewing first lady Michelle Obama favourably, she's more popular than her husband. The President has never been shy about publicly expressing his adoration for his wife; in his election night victory speech, Obama gushed, 'I have never been prouder to watch the rest of America fall in love with you too as our nation's first lady.'"
Also on the list: Melinda and Bill Gates, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia di Rossi and Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo!, and her husband, Zachary Bogue.
Which of them looks like Lagbaja to you? I am suspecting the man in blue native attire....?
Bisade Ologunde a.k.a Lagbaja has been in the entertainment industry for about two decades now. For two decades this man has managed to conceal his identity from the public. It's just unbelievable!
I officially rank him the most secretive Nigerian celeb.
This is really impressive and highly commendable. Nollywood actresses hope say una dey learn o!
